The direction warning unit is set into the road surface to indicate an incorrect direction. The unit consists of a panel (8) that is hinged along one edge (12) and is held open by springs (13). The springs are contained within a rectangular channel set into the road surface. An indicator strip (10) fixed to the front edge has a series of flat profile 'no entry' pictograms (11). The unit is normally set across a road lane. When travelling in the correct direction the panel deflects to allow passage. USE/ADVANTAGE - Partic. for motorways.
