PURPOSE:To decrease the number of external junctions and to improve workability by dividing each coloring part in a picture element into two parts, arranging them in one picture element in specified arrangement and providing an external connecting terminal common to the respective picture elements. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a red filter 2, a green filter 3, and a blue filter 4, and one picture element is constituted of two sets of subdivided color filters of red, green and blue 2-4. In such constitution, one picture element displays eight or more colors by the use of the brightness balance of respective color filters 2-11 inside. Then, the respective color filters 2-4 divided into two parts are integrated in a liquid crystal cell by a wiring pattern 6 consisting of a transparent conductive film. The picture display device is constituted by using such color filters 2-4. Therefore, the space between the external connecting terminals is not made small, the lowering of workability and the increase of working man-hour are avoided. The cost of a product is reduced and the yield of the product is improved. |
