PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus that visually presents a relationship between images, and also improves visibility.

SOLUTION: The image display apparatus 10 includes: a feature value extraction means 11 for extracting a feature value from thumbnail image data; an arrangement position calculation means 12 for calculating an arrangement position of a thumbnail image; a distance calculation means 13 for calculating a distance from a predetermined position to the arrangement position of the thumbnail image; an image rotating means 14 for rotating the thumbnail image; and a map display means 15 for displaying the thumbnail image on a map. The image rotating means 14 has such a configuration that the thumbnail image is three-dimensionally virtually rotated by a prescribed angle on the basis of arrangement information including one of a distance from a predetermined reference position on a map display screen to a display position of the thumbnail image, similarities of thumbnail images, and visibility of the thumbnail image.
