PURPOSE:To attain the multiplex transmission of a picture signal with high ciphering performance by reading a password sent from a sender side by a receiver side, comparing a code with a password stored in advance and decoding a coding picture signal for each coincident channel. CONSTITUTION:A signal subject to picture compression by a picture coding section 1 and a password in a password 2 decided uniquely by the user, are fed for each channel to a picture frame multiplexer section 3 at a sender side. Then the signal subject to the multiplexing is sent by a transmission section 5 through a multiplexer 4. On the other hand, the signal is received by a reception section 6 at a receiver side, a signal multiplexed by a demultiplexer 7 is demultiplexed into each channel and decomposed into a picture signal and a password by a picture frame demultiplexer section 8. Then the password is decoded by a password decoding section 9 and collated with a password stored in advance in a password recording section 10 by a discrimination section 11, and when they are coincident, the code is decoded by a picture decoding section 12. |
