In sterilising filtration of drinks, esp. beer, using membrane units with a number of membrane tubes, the beer is heated before sterilisation and is fed at this raised temp. to the membrane units. - The width of the membrane pores is pref. 0.2-0.85 (0.4-0.45) microns, and the beer pref. enters the membrane unit at up to 35 (10-20) deg. C.
