SIGNAL-DISPLAYING DEVICE WITH PASSIVE ELEMENTS, IN PARTICULAR FOR DISPLAYING CHARACTERS COMPOSED OF SEGMENTS

A signal-displaying device with passive elements is disclosed, inparticular for displaying characters composed of segments. The device has a base plate (1), signal-displaying elements formed by the base plate and by signalling bodies (3) arranged in rows and columns, as well as control elements (10) connectable or connected with the signalling bodies (3) and capable of rotating the signalling bodies (2). The signalling bodies can rotate around a shaft and have at least one surface (4) capable of rotating in the direction of the signal-displaying surface of the base plate (1) and of storing information, having for example a different colour than the base plate. The signalling bodies (3) are cylindrical and provided with at least three slits (6) that extend in the axial direction and are radially recessed in the direction of the shaft. The two outer slits (6) have coplanar center planes, and a further slit (6) partially in contact with the adjacent slits has a center plane that forms an angle, in particular an angle between 90 DEG and 180 DEG , with the center plane of both outer slits, so that an axially continuous cavity is formed at the bottom of the slits for introducing a shaft capable of rotating the signalling bodies (3).
