The bed includes a mattress or sheet (1), comprising a layer (2) contg. permanent magnets (3) formed as thin strips. The magnets are polarised such that the south poles lie at the head of the bed, and the north poles at the foot. At least one electromagnetic field generator (4) is linked to one of the permanent magnets, to generate electromagnetic waves (7) at very low frequencies, i.e. lower than 50 Hz. A programmable timer (5) may be connected to the generate to regulate the electromagnetic emissions to a predetermined pattern. USE/ADVANTAGE - For helping people with sleeping disorders.
