The invention proposes a pressure regulating valve, in particular for regulating the vacuum in the crankcase. This pressure regulating valve comprises a cup-shaped housing with a bottom part and a lid, there being a diaphragm 14 between these two parts. Arranged on the diaphragm is a hollow cylindrical part 26 which surrounds an interposed valve. This interposed valve is held in its rest position by a compression spring 24. The diaphragm is moved into an upper rest position via a further compression spring 25. If the vacuum in the intake pipe exceeds a certain limiting value, the first valve aperture between the valve seat 17 and the valve plate 18 closes counter to the force of the spring 25. In this valve position, the blow-by gases sucked out of the crankcase are passed through the valve aperture 20. If the vacuum in the intake pipe increases further, the diaphragm 14 moves towards the valve aperture 20 and, at a maximum permissible vacuum, closes this valve aperture too. This two-stage valve is of particularly compact and space-saving construction and can be set to particular pressure limits, depending on the application, by the design of the compression springs and of the cross-section ratios.

|
