PURPOSE:To safely and effectively perform peeling and splitting treatment of a fiber structure containing a fibrillated conjugate filament composed of a polyamide component and a polyester component by subjecting the fiber structure to turbulent flow treatment in an alcoholic aqueous solution of oxalic acid. CONSTITUTION:A fiber structure such as woven fabric, knit fabric or nonwoven fabric containing a fibrillated conjugate filament composed of a polyamide component (e.g. nylon 6 or nylon 66) and a polyester component (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate) as at least a part of the structure is charged into a jet dyeing machine and subjected to turbulent flow action in a solution produced by dissolving oxalic acid in a mixture of an alcohol and water. The conjugate filament is peeled and split by the process advantageous in view of toxicity and waste water treatment. The obtained fiber structure has voluminousness, softness, softness, feeling to hand, bulkiness and spun-like feeling. |
