PURPOSE:To improve the resistance to external pressure in the tubular tetrafluoroethylene resin porous body having a fine fibrous structure consisting of the fiber and the knots interconnected by the fiber by forming a rugged structure formed by cutting, contracting and/or separating and removing the fine fibrous structure on the surface of the lumen. CONSTITUTION:This tubular tetrafluoroethylene resin porous body consists of a fiber 1 and the knots 2 interconnected by the fiber 1. Rugged structures 3 and 4 formed by cutting, contracting and/or separating and removing the fine fibrous structure are formed on the surface of the lumen. The average depth of the recessed part 3 of the rugged structure is controlled to 20-80% of the total wall thickness of the porous body. Consequently, the strength and the tubular structure holding property against the external pressure are improved as compared with the tubular tetrafluoroethylene resin porous body of the conventional structure, and the porous body is appropriately used for the hollow- fiber separation membrane and especially for external pressure-type filtration. |
