PURPOSE:To easily prepare the subject food having excellent taste, flavor and palatability in large amount by coating the surface of a formed food material such as cooked rice with a specific batter mix, frying the coated food material in oil to form an outer skin and steaming the product. CONSTITUTION:A food raw material such as cooked rice, seasoned meat, vegetable and whole egg is formed, optionally sprinkled with powder composed mainly of vegetable protein and coated with a batter mix obtained by adding a coagulant for bean curd to a composition composed mainly of whole egg and vegetable protein. The coated food material is fried in an oil to form an outer skin of the omelet-like food covering the surface of the formed food material and, as necessary, the omelet and rice like skin is seasoned with a seasoning liquid to obtain the objective food. |
