PURPOSE:To provide the brightness characteristic controller for the display unit which increases the resolution in an area wherein a brightness voltage is low when the circumference of the display unit is dark or in an area wherein the brightness voltage is high when bright, and can output a maximum brightness voltage in both cases. CONSTITUTION:When the circumference of the display unit is dark, the ratio of an increase in output voltage to an increase in input voltage from a volume is small in the low input voltage range and large in the high input voltage range, but when bright, the ratio of the increase in output voltage to the increase in input voltage is large in the low input voltage range and small in the high input voltage range; and this brightness characteristic controller for the display unit has a sign converting circuit with such brightness characteristics that the maximum brightness voltage is outputted regardless of the circumference is dark or bright. |
