Automatic switching control for automobile lights - responds to detected ambient light level to switch on vehicle lights

The switching control operates in parallel to and independently of the manual lights switch, to allow the lights to be switched on w.r.t. the ambient light level when it drops below a predetermined threshold value. Pref. the ambient light level is detected via a light sensor, coupled to a comparator logic for comparison with a reference light level, to operate a setting element for the lights switch. The manual lights switch remains fully operational upon failure of the automatic switching control. ADVANTAGE - Increased road safety during poor lighting conditions.
