An electrical connector assembly includes a holder (40) for detachably holding modules (50a, 50b), the holder/module subassembly being received within a connector (60). The holder (40) includes a wall plate (41) and apertured plate (42) and locates two modules (50a, 50b) by projections (45, 46) and latches (43). The modules each include contacts connected to wires (53) and projections (55) locate the subassembly via grooves (63) in the connector (60), with connector through contacts (61) engaging the module contacts via the plate apertures (42a). Optional holder latches (49) engage the connector (60). The contacts (61) and post (65) engage a pcb along axis (A) at right angles to the direction of engagement of modules (50a, 50b) with holder (40). <IMAGE>
