PURPOSE:To obtain the intermediate transfer type image forming device which prevents the sepn. defect of a transfer material after a secondary transfer. CONSTITUTION:A secondary transfer roller 37 is subjected to a constant current control by a 2nd DC power source 39. The front end region of the transfer material 311 where the image is not formed is set at a value smaller than the secondary transfer current regulated for the region where the image is formed after the above-mentioned region. For example, when the intermediate transfer body 32 of 180/sec process speed, 10<9>OMEGA.cm volume resistivity is used, the current of 10muA fairly smaller than the regulated value is supplied to the secondary transfer roller 37 before the transfer material 311 arrives at the secondary transfer section. The current to be supplied to the secondary transfer roller 37 is held at 10muA for the time of 20msec after the transfer material 311 arrives at the secondary transfer roller 37. The current to be supplied to the secondary transfer roller 37 is set at regulated 100muA suitable for the secondary transfer after lapse of 20msec. |
