<p>PURPOSE:To easily and quickly extract a graphic in an electronic composing device. CONSTITUTION:The circumscribed rectangles T1 to T4 of graphics G1 to G4 allocated to a rectangular original area 1 are respectively found out. These rectangules t1 to t4 are positioned in parallel with the area 1. In the case of extracting only the graphic G3, a specified area 2 including the rectangle T3 is specified. The area 2 is displayed in the area 1. Although the area 2 also intersects with the graphics G2, G4, whether the graphic G3 is to be extracted or not is judged based upon whether or not the area 2 includes the rectangle T3. Namely positional relation between a specified area and a graphic is compared and judged based upon relation between vertexes included in the specified area and that included in the circumscribed rectangle of the graphic. Thus the quantity of calculation for judging the positional relation between the specified area and the graphic can be reduced and the specified area can also be easily specified.</p> |
