PURPOSE: To obtain a synergistic microbicide mixture obtained by combining 2-bromo-2-bromomethylglutaronitrile known as an antimicrobial agent with N,4-dihydroxy-α-oxobenzene-ethanimidoyl chloride in a specific proportion. CONSTITUTION: The subject mixture synergistically acting as a herbicidal material is obtained by formulating (A) 2-bromo-2-bromomethylglutaronitrile with (B) N,4-dihydroxy-α-oxobenzene-ethanimidoyl chloride so as to have (100:1) to (1:100) weight ratio of components A:B. Further, the mixture preferably includes a glycol solvent (preferably PEG 200). In this case, the weight ratio of the components A to B is preferably about (20:1) to (1:20). The antimicrobial mixture is effective on pasteurization and control of growth of microorganisms, including the growth of yeast, mold and algae, and used for agriculture, treatment of a pool, a fountain, a pond, a cooling water system, etc., or paper, grass, timber, and water system. |
