An apparatus in which a sheet (98) is registered during the movement thereof. The sheet is moved along a path in a forward direction (W) of movement by a drum (90) and a lateral force is applied thereto by means of a set of rollers (96). The rollers (96) are carried by the drum (90) and are freely rotatable about their own axes which are inclined to the axis of the drum. The rollers apply a lateral force to the sheet which causes the sheet edge (100) to engage a moving registration edge (92) of the drum at which time the lateral motion is discontinued and the sheet continues along its path with virtually no loss of velocity. As a result of the movement of the registration guide the relative velocity between the sheet and the guide is zero thereby substantially eliminating wear to the guide. <IMAGE>
