PURPOSE:To remove an exposure dead time, and also improve productivity in making a copy by carrying out exposure scanning on the first document in the normal scanning direction, and carrying out the exposure scanning on the second document in the opposite direction after the exposure scanning on the first document is finished. CONSTITUTION:Though document exposure scanning is carried out by moving the first scanner 122 at a constant speed in parallel with the document surface as well as by moving the second scanner 123 at a 1/2 speed in the same direction in synchronism with the first scanner, the exposure scanning is carried out not only at a forward rotating time (in the arrow (a) direction) but also at a backward rotating time (in the arrow (b) direction). In that case, a photosensitive belt 203 is rotated inversely, so that a non-reverse image is formed on a transfer paper, and the image is also transferred on a transfer paper while the transfer paper is moving in a transfer section in the opposite direction. The first document and the second document are carried into an exposure area in this order by means of an automatic document feeder 500, and the exposure scanning on the first document is carried out in the first direction proceeding to the sending-out side from the document sending-in side, and after the exposure scanning is finished, the exposure scanning on the second document is carried out in the second direction (b) opposite to the first direction (a). |
