The superconductor switch has a control current which consists of a high frequency alternating current (1HF). The control current (1HF) is couplable to at least one of the positions (1, 2) of the load current carrying area (L) via a coupling device (KKE). The coupling device is separated from the area by a coupling gap (KS). The load current carrying superconductive area has two positions of discontinuity (1, 2) of the wave resistance. By this means, a microwave resonator (RES) is formed which amplifies the high frequency alternating current. ADVANTAGE - Requires only very small control power, has small dimensions, and is relatively cheaply cooled.
