摘要 Abraded catalyst obtd. in the oxychlorination process for the prepn. of 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCE) is removed from the crude 1,2-DCE gas stream prod. in a dry-operated purification zone, pref. in a dust separator or an electrofilter and pref. with the sepd.-off abraded catalyst being subsequently treated to free it from adsorbed 1,2-DCE reaction prod. USE/ADVANTAGE - Abraded Al oxide-supported CuCl2 catalyst from fluidised-bed oxychlorination process can be sepd. by a process which does not give heavy-metal- and inorganic slime-contg. waste water, the waste water being instead one which can, after stripping, by biologically-treated for disposal. Further the recovered abraded catalyst can be recycled to the catalyst prodn. step
