PURPOSE:To provide an ion exchange resin with which back generation of a mixture resin in a medium layer produced by backwash separation in a cation exchange resin regenerating tower can be surely prevented. CONSTITUTION:In a cation exchange resin regenerating tower 1, an anion exchange resin 14 in the upper layer, mixture resin 15 in the medium layer and cation exchange resin 16 in the lower layer are formed by backwash separation. The anion exchange resin 14 is sent to an anion exchange resin regenerating tower 2 through an anion exchange resin exit tube 5 provided in the lower part of the anion exchange resin layer and then regenerated with an alkali regenerating agent. On the other hand, as for the mixture resin layer 15 and the cation exchange resin 16 remaining in the cation exchange resin regenerating tower 1, only the cation exchange resin is regenerated by introducing an acid producing agent through a tube 7 provided at the top part of the cation exchange resin layer. |
