摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of the steering control by gradually increasing the current supply quantity after the current supply quantity of an electric motor is set zero when the system is started at the specified speed or at higher speed in the electric motor which is controlled by determining the target steering angle of rear wheels on the basis of the front wheels steering angle and the vehicle speed. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 2 in a controller 18 achieves the calculation process while a vehicle is traveling by receiving the respective output signals of main and sub front wheels steering angle sensors 16, 17, a vehicle speed sensor 19, main and sub rear wheels steering angle sensors 22,23, a current sensor 34, a voltage sensor 35 and an ignition sensor 52, and calculates the target steering angle of the rear wheels. THe rear wheels are steered by realizing the drive control of a steering motor 20 according to the target steering angle of the rear wheels. In a case where a driver mistakenly turns off an ignition switch during traveling, then he turns on the ignition switch again confusedly, the value of the current supply to the steering motor is set to zero or approached to zero, then, this current value is controlled so as to be gradually increased up to the current value according to the target steering angle.</p>
