PURPOSE:To set the external device using the battery as the power supply only during the period of the irreducible minimum of the necessity for data transmission and reception between the main body device and the external device to an operational mode. CONSTITUTION:A key pad C using the battery as the power source is inserted into a key pad interface box connected to a credit processing terminal equipment A through a cable. Then the system detects that the key pad C and the box D are nearly arranged by a permanent magnet 26 and an insertion detector 35, and an electro-magnet 38 and a magnetic sensor 27. Based on the detection signal of this magnetic sensor 27, the key pad C switches the power supply state, set the system from a stopping mode to an operation mode. After that, this operation mode is returned to the stopping mode. |
