PURPOSE:To prevent a jammed paper from being overheated and to make it safe to touch a fixing roller by hand when the jammed paper is taken out by providing a cooling means which is actuated when the occurrence of paper jamming is detected. CONSTITUTION:A paper jamming detecting means detects the paper jamming, then the power source of a heater 2 is turned off according to the command of a CPU, electromagnetic valves 4 and 5 are switched to a cooling circulating side, and pumps 6 and 7 are actuated. The pump 6 allows oil to discharge from an oil tank 8, the pump 7 allows the oil to be sucked up to the oil tank 8 and allows the oil to circulate in a pipe 3, so that the heater 2 and the fixing roller 1 which is at high temperature are rapidly cooled. When the detecting means detects that the fixing roller 1 is cooled down to a temperature lower than the specified temperature, safety display is performed on a display part according to the CPU command, and also the oil is stopped from circulating. When the jamming detecting means detects that the jamming is released, the power source of the heater is turned on, the safety display on the display part is turned off, then an operating part is initialized. |
