The circuit board connection element (1) has an integrated status display with LED's mounted directly on the circuit board (2). The connection element (1') has a reception compartment (6') for a transparent adapter (4') for each terminal pole, which couples the light from the LED (3) to a visible surface (5') of the connection element (1'). Each of the transparent adapters (4') may comprise an optical fibre light conductor bundle allowing a curved light path between the LED (3) and the visible surface (5') of the connection element (1').
