PURPOSE:To enlarge the performance and use as carbon products by providing large adherence of a melt-sprayed coating layer and the property of coating material as well as of carbon raw material. CONSTITUTION:The surface of carbon raw material is first blast-cleaned. On the cleaned surface is melt-sprayed with metal or alloy consisting of at least one of Cr, Ti, V, W, Mo, Zr, Nb and Ta whose ratio of linear expansion coefficient to carbon is 0.73-1.44 and which have large chemical affinity to carbon at the interface or its alloy with Ni, Al, Cr and stainless steel. The melt-sprayed coating layer may be formed in multilayer by melt-spraying other material whose linear expansion coefficient is outside the above range on the upper layer. |
