The present invention relates to a device for protecting the eyes from being dazzled, comprising two negative-liquid-crystal obturating screens (2, 3) placed in front of the eyes, a photosensitive sensor (1), comprising a processing circuit (8, 9, 11, 12, 14) which is electrically connected to the liquid-crystal screens (2, 3) and to the photosensitive sensor (1), possessing a means for forming a threshold and a means (8) for measuring an average value of the signal coming from the photosensitive sensor (1) and providing a high-amplitude signal for driving (controlling) the screens (2, 3) when the signal coming from the photosensitive sensor (1) is greater than the sum of the said threshold and the said average value.
