The present invention relates to a level sensor for an electrically conducting fluid. For this purpose, it comprises a probe (1) including a substantially cylindrical central electrode (2) lined with a sheath (3) of dielectric resin and a peripheral electrode (4) surrounding the central electrode, the probe being designed to be arranged substantially vertically in the fluid so that this fluid enters between the peripheral electrode and the sheath of the central electrode, and an electronic processing circuit (5-8) capable of measuring the capacitance of the probe in order to deduce therefrom the level of the fluid. <IMAGE>
