Reductant injection into flue gas stream - using regulated lances arranged in several planes

Liq. or gas injection, into the 750-1150 deg.C. zone of a flue gas stream from a fossil fuel-fired steam generator, is carried out by rigid cooled lances which are fitted with nozzles and which are distributed over the flue gas stream cross-section. The novelty is that reductant is injection in several planes, each having a lance (8) or axially-aligned opposed lances (7), the reductant supply to the lances (8,7) being controlled by fitted measuring devices (9). Equipment for carying out the process is also claimed. USE/ADVANTGE - The process is useful for selective non-catalytic redn. of NOx with a reductant. It requires no moving parts, provides fully automated reductant injection into the optimal temp. zone and can be used with steam generators having flue gas ducts of large cross-section.
