RETRACTABLE BUMPER BAR Inventor: William Charles Paulson A bumper assembly, for use with a tailgate assembly or the frame of a motor vehicle, comprising: a bumper bar carrying a pair of laterally projecting, spaced arms, one end of each of the arms being fixed to the bar and the other end being pivotally mountable on the frame of the vehicle; and links connectable at one end with the bar and with the tailgate assembly, whereby upon lowering the tailgate the bar swings out of the path of the tailgate and beneath the frame. |
