PURPOSE:To reduce the cost by providing a housing which has a ferrule having connecting members in both ends and can be connected to an optical connector, etc., and easily connecting it to another optical connector, etc. CONSTITUTION:A fiber through hole is formed in a ferrule main body 10 in the lengthwise direction. A notch 11 having such depth is formed in the peripheral surface of the center part of the ferrule main body 10 that this notch traverses the fiber through hole. One end part of the ferrule main body 10 is provided with a collar part 13 used for connection to the housing. In this case, a bare optical fiber 16 is coated with an adhesive throughout in the lengthwise direction of the fiber through hole and is inserted from an end part 18 or 19 of connecting members 14 and 15, and thereafter, the adhesive is hardened by heat or light to fix the optical fiber to the fiber through hole. |
