533,676. Mixing air and gas. BELLISS & MORCOM, Ltd., MORCOM, A., WALTER, C. M., and CLARKE, J. S. Nov. 13, 1939, Nos. 29974/39 and 9027/40. [Class 7 (ii)] Gas from a chamber r is admitted to a mixing chamber a through an annulus f formed between a ledge b on the mixing chamber and a nozzle d to which air is admitted through ports h by a suction-actuated piston o. The nozzle is adjusted, through a screw or other connection j, k and Bowden wire mechanism g, to regulate the annulus f. The upper side of the piston is open to the mixing chambers through a depending passage q. The admission of gas to the chamber r is controlled by a suction actuated diaphragm which regulates the opening and closing movements of a valve t. A valve v is located in the outlet of the gas chamber ; and a filter 6 is provided in the mixing chamber. In a modified construction, the air inlet nozzle is secured to and depends from the sliding piston and in this construction the gas inlet to the mixing chamber may register with apertures in a cylindrical tube carried by the air nozzle.
