摘要 Prodn. of microelectrode arrays from glass or thermoplastic materials involves (a) contacting glass or thermoplastic powder with an activator and opt. reducing the activator, (b) metallising from a chemical metal plating bath, and (c) shaping by sintering or melting. Also claimed are (i) use of precious metal-contg. solns. for activating the surface of insulators prior to chemical metal plating to produce microelectrode arrays and (ii) use of chemical metal plating baths for prodn. of microelectrode arrays. USE/ADVANTAGE - The microelectrode arrays are esp. useful in electro-analysis and electro-synthesis. The arrays can be produced from a varity of metals and insulating materials using commercially available activator solns. and plating baths.
