Support prop for building construction - has telescopic prop which features brake in casing of outer section

The prop consists of a telescopic section (2) which is raised and lowered from a housing (4). Plates (6,8) spread the load at both top and bottom. A braking assembly (12) is located in the outer casing to prevent undesired collapsing of the telescopic extension. The brake has a braking ring of elastic material ie rubber on which the inner cylinder runs against a radial braking force.The ring can be placed on the inside of the outer sleeve. USE/ADVANTAGE - Support prop used during building construction is modified to make prop safer for use.
