PURPOSE:To enhance the surface smoothness and thermal recording accuracy of a thermal recording material and to improve the sticking preventing properties thereof by providing a radiation curable silicone resin intermediate layer and a radiation curable overcoat resin layer containing a leveling agent on a thermal recording layer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material wherein a thermal recording layer containing a color former and a developer forming a color upon the contact with the color former is provided on a support, a radiation curable silicone resin intermediate layer is provided on the thermal recording layer and a radiation curable overcoat resin layer containing a radiation curable leveling agent is further provided on the intermediate layer. As the radiation curable leveling agent, there is a radiation curable silicone resin or a radiation curable fluorine- containing acrylate resin.
