The bimetallic thermoswitch has a 2-part housing (1) containing a contact spring (6) with a movable contact (36) at one end cooperating with a stationary contact (28), under control of a bimetallic, snap-action disc (5). The bottom part (2) of the housing (1) has an inwards projecting pin (12) which loosely supports the bimetallic, snap-action disc (5). Pref. the switch housing (7) is made of a dark thermoplastic material, the base (2) having an elongate rectangular base (10), parallel sidewalls (7,8) and as end wall (9) snap-action disc (5) pref. has a matching rectangular (6) supported by a pin (15) at one end of the latter.
