The method for fixing, using adhesive bonding, a warning light on the housing or the mounting base of a lighting or indicating device of a motor vehicle such as, more particularly, an indicating light, is characterised in that it consists in using a hot-melt adhesive of the type which can be crosslinked cold and in that it comprises, in succession, the following phases: a) the said hot-melt adhesive is brought to the molten or viscous state in order to be deposited in the form of a soft bead at the periphery of one of the mounting base-housing or warning light parts; b) the other of the said warning light or mounting base-housing parts is placed onto the part endowed with the adhesive bead in such a manner that the warning light and mounting base-housing are assembled under pressure and in that the adhesive bead adheres to the two said parts, thereby providing a sealed junction; c) after the adhesive bead cools down, the lighting or indicating device is inspected and checked; d) the lighting device is placed in a non-sealed packaging in such a manner that the crosslinking of the adhesive can take place, due to the humidity of the air, at ambient temperature. r |
