PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having superior performances, such as sufficiently high color forming density and color forming sensitivity, superior color forming properties, and good image shelf stability (weather ability). CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material obtained by providing a thermal color-forming layer containing a colorless or light-colored leuco dye as a color forming substance and a color developer reacting with the color forming substance under heat to produce a color on a substrate, 2,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone or 4,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone is contained as the color developer, and chlorinated diphenyl sulfonic compound is contained as a sensitizer. In this manner, color forming properties and heat response are improved, and good shelf stability is obtained. |
