摘要 PURPOSE:To easily regenerate a catalyst by bringing a solid catalyst used in the catalytic decomposition of thiophosgene with water or steam, which lowers W its activity, into contact with steam. CONSTITUTION:Thiophosgene is decomposed in a fixed bed gas passing type gaseous phase continuous decomposition apparatus packed with a catalyst by supplying thiophosgene and water or steam to said apparatus from the upper part thereof and the solid catalyst lowered in its activity is regenerated by supplying steam to the apparatus from the upper part thereof. As the solid catalyst, active carbon, silicon oxide, aluminum oxide and an aluminosilicate compound are used and a catalyst formed by supporting an acid or a metal on those components may be used. At the point of time when the activity of the solid catalyst is lowered by the adsorption and accumulation of compounds accompanied by thiophosgene and lowering the activity of the catalyst, steam is supplied to regenerate the catalyst. Since the activity of the catalyst is almost perfectly restored after regeneration, there is no problem at all even when the catalyst is repeatedly used in the decomposition treatment.
