<p>PURPOSE:To stably and efficiently perform filtering work of molten metal by providing the outlets of purified molten metal to both the right and left sides after filtering and purifying the molten metal with a ceramic tube. CONSTITUTION:In the case of filtering and purifying molten metal containing solid impurities with ceramic tubes, molten metal supplied from an inlet 3 thereof is once stored in a molten metal introducing chamber 17 surrounded by a surrounding frame 16 whose lower end 14 is not reached to the bottom face 15 of a filter chamber 2. Since this molten metal is introduced into the filter chamber 2 from a communication port 18 of the lower part, even when the filter chamber 2 is in a vacant state just after start-up of work, the supplied molten metal does not directly fall on the ceramic tube 7 and thereby these tube 7 are not damaged. The molten metal supplied into the filter chamber 2 is filtered with the ceramic tubes 7 and discharged as purified substance from the outlet 20 of molten metal in the lower part and the same is raised and induced to the outlets 19 in the upper part. Since the outlets 19 in the upper part are opened to the right and left both sides, a vessel for transportation is ordinarily arranged to the lower parts of both outlets 19 of molten metal in the upper part. Either thereof is alternately used to take out molten metal and therefore takeout work of molten metal is made stable.</p> |
