<p>PURPOSE: To provide a process and device for cutting material, such as metal, at higher speed over a wide range of applications. CONSTITUTION: In a cutting process and device, for forming at the outlet of a cutting nozzle 1 a concentric jet of gas 15 around a central jet of liquid 14, at the same time that the jet of cutting liquid 14 is formed, the gas jet has a speed equal to or higher than that of the liquid jet. Typically, the liquid and the gas have the same composition and are both preferably oxygen.</p> |
