<p>PURPOSE:To provide a compatible magnetic recording and reproducing device which is highly safe and reliable by obliquely inserting a standard tape cassette or a small tape cassette, thereby preventing a damage on peripheral components including a cassette holder. CONSTITUTION:On the left bottom surface of a cassette holder 40 for holding the standard tape and the small tape cassette and carrying it to a tape carrying position, a left second lever 60, a left engaging lever 70 and a first rod 80 are provided and on the right bottom surface, a right second lever 90, a first lever 100 and a right engaging lever 110 are provided. When the tape cassette is obliquely inserted, engaging sections 73 and 113 are engaged with the projecting parts 72 and 112 of side plates respectively and the cassette holder 40 is prevented from being carried to the positions of a supplying reel 23 and a takeup reel 24.</p> |
