Wind power plant (2) for exploiting wind energy, having a rotor (8) which is arranged on a mast (4), can be rotated about a vertical pivot (78) under the action of wind and is provided with a plurality of vertically extending rotor blades (12) spaced from the pivot (78). The rotor (8) has a central region (22) and arms (24) which lead from the central region (22) to the rotor blades (12). Arranged one above the other there are in each case two arms (24) which converge inwardly essentially in one horizontal plane and transmit torque about the rotor pivot (78) to the central region (22).
