<p>PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of sheet thickness and to prevent thrust force from being generated between a work roll and a backup roll by preventing a work roll chock and the work roll from shifting in the cross direction. CONSTITUTION:In a cross roll mill wherein the shaft center C1 of an upper work roll 51 and the shaft center C2 of a lower work roll are arranged so that they are crossed with each other by upper and lower cross heads 59, 60 through work roll chocks 53, 54 respectively, a hydraulic cylinder 1 having a liner 2 as a pressing means to press the work roll chocks 53, 54 in the roll cross direction is provided between upper and lower cross heads 59, 60 and respective work roll chocks 53, 54, and at the time of rolling, the side faces of the inlet sides of the upper and lower roll chocks 53, 54 are pressed by a hydraulic cylinder 1 through the liner 2, the upper and lower work roll chocks 53, 54 come into tight contact with upper and lower cross heads 59, 60 on the outlet sides against the splitting force, the upper and lower work roll chocks 53, 54 and the upper and lower rolls 51, 52 are prevented from shifting in the roll cross direction.</p> |
