发明名称 FARADAY EFFECT MATERIAL AND MAGNETIC FIELD SENSOR
摘要 PURPOSE:To make a magnetic field sensor small in size by using a HgS- MnS-ZnS alloy as the essential component of a Faraday rotator. CONSTITUTION:The Faraday effect material essentially consists of a HgS- MnS-ZnS alloy and has the compsn. in the area surrounded by lines satisfying formula I in the ternary phase (including the lines). Any material essentially comprising a HgS-MnS-ZnS alloy can be used, and for example, a trace amt. of element as Te, Se may be included. The magnetic field sensor has a Faraday rotator preferably comprising the Faraday effect material of this HgS-MnS-ZnS alloy of this compsn. This sensor detects a magnetic field by the rotation angle of the polarized plane of light which transmits the Faraday rotator. The sensor can be made small in size by using this Faraday effect material.
