The valve unit has a controllable unlet (47,2) and an outlet valve (9, 10). A pressure outlet chamber (3, 7) is connected by the inlet valve to a pressure inlet chamber (48, 10) and by the outlet valve to atmos. In normal operation, pressure is reduced in the inlet and outlet chambers by the inlet valve. The inlet chamber has the inlet valve connected to a first chamber section (48), and the pressure inlet (39) connected to a second chamber section (50). The two chamber sections are connectable by a non-return valve (38, 42). During pressure reduction, the return flow from the outlet chamber passes through the outlet valve direct to atmos.
