The invention concerns a drum with a lid, made of thermoplastics material and intended to hold, in particular, dangerous liquids or solids. In order to improve the securing of the lid, which is held in place with an overlapping clamping ring (18), special locking elements (52, 54) are fitted on the drum body (10) and/or on the lid (20), the barb-like edges of the locking elements physically interlocking with the upper and/or lower sides (30, 32) of the clamping ring (18).
