The shinguard (1) for a goalkeeper has a shaped section (2) which can be moulded or fitted to the wearer's leg contour. The shaped section (2) has an angled lie (3), as a half-shell (2), with angled sidewalls (4a,4b) parallel to each other. The shinguard (1) is composed of an outer shell (5) and an inner shaped section (2) as a one-piece or multi-part unit. The section (6) of the shaped part (2) against the leg runs conically downwards, the stepless belts for attachment to the leg. The outer shell (5) has a 90 deg. bend at the outer contour of the leg. The shinguard is made of polyethylene, and can be patterned with a coloured layer or a fabric cover, or by a complete or partial colouring, or a relief pattern. ADVANTAGE - The shinguard can be modified and adapted to the actual shape and dimensions of the wearer.
