A main spindle (2) of a cutter head is supported movably upward and downward by a column. It has a part for mounting a cutter (3), having a mechanism to mount and dismount a cutter along the axis of the main spindle at an end of the main spindle. A carriage moves toward and away from the part for mounting a cutter. The carriage carries out mounting and dismounting of a cutter for the part for mounting a cutter through its reciprocating motion.
